Here is the news: Colour Renovation

April 13, 2010

So around the blogs, I’m sure you will have seen the super exciting news about the transformation of the colour families that Stampin’ Up! will undergo come 1 September. What exactly is it all about? Grab a cuppa – it’ll be worth it!

In  a nutshell, SU have done some research over the last couple of years into their colours. The result is a rather exciting shake up and revamp of the colour collections – a true renovation! Some colours that weren’t so popular are going, some have shifted into a “new” family, others are being added – and we’ll still have wonderful new In-Colours each year that will last twice as long. I’m just a bit excited at the thought. I have to say, I love the new look of the reorganised families – think it fits my sort of style. Some of you may take a little while to get used to it, and that’s OK – we have five whole months to get used to the new idea.

So let’s take a look at the colours:

In there, you’ll see 25 of the current colours remaining, along with 10 past In-Colours becoming core colours plus five completely NEW colours, so the core collection will have a total of 40 colours. In-colours will still be added five at a time. These will last two years – the first year of the new collection will have five In-colours, then the second year will have a total of TEN great In-colours you’ll love.

So the colours that are leaving us are:

Now, if you’re even a little like me, there’s at least one or two of your well-loved and used colours in this mix. What to do??! First thing: DON’T PANIC – we have FIVE MONTHS to stock up on those colours we really love and want to have beyond 1 September. It would be wise to place orders for ink refills, cardstock and an co-ordinating accessories sooner rather than later to ensure you will have your favourites for a while longer. And once you’re finally getting down on those stocks, I have some tips to move you successfully from the colour you’ve been loving into a slightly newer feilds. I’ll be popping those up as the time draws nearer to say farewell to these colours.

I’ll keep you posted on the news about this huge renovation as the information comes to us and we’re allowed to give you that info. Already I have seen some people putting together suggestions of some totally new and fresh colour combos – I just know you’ll be as excited as I am about them!!
