I’m literally heading out the door to a workshop – and as I’m demonstrating a type of window card, it reminded me of the one I did yesterday after the challenge issued by Karen at NZSU.
I loved the look of the window card given as the reason for the challenge, and it was certainly quick and easy to do. Great because spare time is limited right about now! So here is my version of a window card – excuse the photo… I’ve not done any editing yet, but will sort that out when I get the chance over the weekend. For now, you get it straight from the camera so I get to make the deadline!
….Dang! Flat batteries she realises now! Well, hopefully I’ll be back before midnight with a pick! Wish me luck!

Stampin Up! have recently launched a new service to their Demonstrators. It’s a one stop place where you can see what events I have coming up, project ideas, what promotions are currently on, plus links to current catalogues. In addition, it makes it easy for you to book a workshop or even get me to tell you about becoming a demonstrator yourself. Perfect!
Book mark this link: www.Kellys_StampinSpot.staminup.net and you’ll be sure to find my Stampin Up! page every time!
(Note the underscore in the address: kellysUnderscoreStampinSpot!)
I’ve just started to play with it, and as such, you’ll see various bits and pieces added to it as the days go by. But do drop in – it’s live now!
You’ll also notice my blog has been a little quiet over the past week. It’s been all excitement around here! I’ve been interviewing and am in discussions around a part-time job that works really well around family life. It’s taken a fair bit of time to work through the past week or so! We’re almost there and I hope to have a start date soon. What that means for all my customers is a slight change.
You’ll still be able to have workshops and classes and stamp camps and all those other fun events. I’m not going anywhere fast! I love Stampin Up! way too much for that! But it will mean a slight change in terms of times – most notably, day-time classes will virtually disappear. Fear not however – as always, if the times I am running a class are not suited to you, you will still be able to get a group of friends along and I’ll run a private class for you at a time that DOES suit!
In the meantime, I’m taking down my class and events page from my blog. Just until I establish when I’ll be starting in town and then which classes I need to alter. Check my Stampin Up page regularly as the events will come up over there as I get them sorted.

My focus these recent weeks has been on Christmas and almost only Christmas as I get our Christmas cards and a few gifts ready to send out.

However, there are still other celebrations and festivities around. While our family generally doesn’t do Halloween type celebrations in any large manner of speaking, we have a neighbouring family who do enjoy the festivities. While “Blurfing” (…Blog Surfing) yesterday, I happened upon a great US demonstrator site. I really wish that I could remember her address as it really was worth stopping off for a visit! If this little project looks familiar to you and your blog travels, do let me know so I can give proper credit.
Anyway, these little cuties are made from punches – ovals and scallops. And they are remarkably easy to do – I think it would be a great project to make with your kids if you are wanting a few decorations come the 31st. I used some bamboo skewers that I already had in my drawers – but I reckon they would do equally well as a dangly mobile or banner!

ETA: I’m pleased to say that I found the link again – The tutorial is from Anne Beale Yancy at Mukibug.com.
Other: Large Oval punch 107305, Scallop Oval punch 114889 Mini Catalogue, Wide Oval punch 112082, Scallop Edge punch 112091 White Gel Pen 105021
All products can be ordered from me anytime – just send me an E-mail. Note if you are after the Scallop Oval, it is only available via the Mini catalogue at the moment and that will have a last order day of 30 November.

This week a class that I have on my Class & Events calendar is one that takes a different perspective on the usual way cards are made. It’s all in the folding. These are simple, but interesting cards, designed to look a little different. It’s my Fancy Folds Class : Thursday 22 October 10am-12.30
And here is one example, with the Dahlia fold:

It’s quite amazing how a few circles with a couple of folds can take on a life of their own!
The class is suitable even for beginners, and I have a couple of spots still available. So if you would like to have a couple of Fancy Fold techniques in your repertoire, then Thursday’s class is for you! It’s just $20 and you’ll go home with three fantastic techniques. Instructions are provided so you can go home and make more at your leisure.
Email me now to get one of those last spots.

Is your Wish List of Stampin Up items still just as big as it ever was? Well, maybe Christmas is an ideal way for you to take a few of those items off it. How? Point your partner, your parents, your friends, or grown children my way and I can help them ensure you get the exact Stampin’ Up goodies under the tree that you really want. Email me today to get your Stampin Up Christmas wishlist on my Christmas Gift registry and then I can help your loved ones choose exactly what you want.
Gosh it’s been a week since I’ve popped on here – I’ll have to apologise and hope for forgiveness! Between rainy holidays and a little bit of lurgy fighting, I’ve hardly been at the computer!
Anyway, I’m almost back on board and I’ve been putting together the samples for some upcoming classes. Which I have just realised I’ve been remiss in putting up here! Eeek! That will be rectified very shortly. But while I was working on my samples, I was thinking about classes I might like to offer in the new year. Yes, I know it’s a little further off than next week, but with Christmas and holidays, I thought I should get a plan together and be prepared to start with a bang.
And YOU get to help me! I’ve created a quick survey that I would love if you would take just 5 minutes to complete. The survey will close in a week to let me go through the responses and begin planning. As a wee carrot, I will have a random give-away to one or two people at the end of the survey period. This is the first time I have used this survey tool and I’m not sure if I get sent the emails of the respondents or not – to be included in my give-away draw, please do send me a quick email to tell me you’ve completed it!
Here is the link: Kelly’s Class Survey. I do believe you will be taken back to the Survey Monkey page at the completion of it, so feel free to come back to my blog if you haven’t quite finished looking around here.
Thank you for your help – and enjoy telling me what you REALLY think!

One of the many things that I need to do for Christmas starts at this time of year. I begin to think about what we’ll be sending, giving, creating, eating, buying… To help me out, I normally have an endless array of lists on hand. Or perhaps that should be not-so-on-hand. I make lists and often will find I’ve left them somewhere not around me when I need to refer to them!
This year, I’m planning on having things go a little smoother. Every year, I try to find ways of lessening the stress of the end of year madness so that we can concentrate more on having FUN. So, I’ve created a little something to help me out with this grand master plan – it’s a list compendium.

Small enough to fit easily into your handbag and just live there until you need it. Perfect!

Inside are the really important lists…. one for all the items I’m thinking about. These pull out and then return to their own pockets. I see this as a small but very important key to organising my life over the next few months!!
And as I realised how it could help me out in terms of organising my life, I thought you might also be interested in a small, but very hand-dandy, tool as well! To that end, I’ve put together some instructions in PDF format and you can purchase those directly from me for just $5. Although this little project has been specifically designed with Christmas in mind, it’s a simple project that will easily adapt to any theme you can think of. To purchase a copy of these instructions, simply click the brand new “BUY NOW” button I’ve installed.

In an article in my recent newsletter, I mentioned how every day items can often be the spring board for inspiration. I have a particular cup that I bought just a few months ago that has quickly become my favourite. I think it had so many of the *scrappy* things that I love – particularly the swirls! – that I just had to have it. It really helps that it’s a nice cup to drink tea from, so it gets used a LOT!!

I also really love the combination of the pink and the greys on this – as well as the overall design. Interestingly, seeing blue is usually my favourite colour, I didn’t want the blue version of this to come home with me. Sometimes I just need to have a little pink around!
Anyway, while away at Stamp Camp a couple of weeks ago, I was finally able to put something together that had been floating around in my head ever since this cup came home from the store.

Definitely a case of inspiration in the everyday!
What was really neat to see is that not only was I inspired to create this particular card, the card itself jump-started something in a couple of the other girls. It was great to see their creations too!
Other: 1/4 ” punch (retired)

Stampin' Bundles have arrived!
